The reactor is supported by a 28,000 sqft dedicated High Level Laboratory Facility which contains the necessary infrastructure and licenses to allow research with far-reaching impacts for Canadians. Other nuclear infrastructure includes the hotcell facility in the Centre for Advanced Nuclear Systems (CANS), the cyclotron facility and the Accelerator Laboratories.

The National Electricity Roundtable (NER) was formed in 1994 to integrate the interests, perspectives and expertise of all parts of the Canadian electric power industry and develop national and international policy positions that reflect the interests of the industry as a whole. The National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) has been a pivotal provider of training solutions for the UK’s civil and defence nuclear industry since 2008.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is a renowned polytechnic serving over 44,000 students annually through a diverse range of apprenticeship and vocational training programs in fields such as science, technology, business, and skilled trades. NAIT offers 111 credit programs and over 200 non-credit options, providing an inclusive and engaging learning environment with access to world-class facilities.
Under the Department of NAIT Industry Solutions contains the Department of Corporate and Continuing Education (C&CE) and Applied Research (AR). NAIT C&CE collaborates with businesses and governments to provide customized training solutions, ranging from skills assessments to professional development. NEI has hundreds of members and, with their involvement, develops policy on key legislative and regulatory issues affecting the industry. NEI was founded in 1994 from the merger of several nuclear energy industry organizations, the oldest of which was created in 1953.
NEI’s members include companies that own or operate nuclear power plants, reactor designers and advanced technology companies, architect and engineering firms, fuel suppliers and service companies, consulting services and manufacturing companies, companies involved in nuclear medicine and nuclear industrial applications, radionuclide and radiopharmaceutical companies, universities and research laboratories, law firms, labor unions and international electric utilities.

Nuclear Industry Association United Kingdom
The Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) is the trade association for the civil nuclear industry in the UK. It represents more than 250 companies across the UK’s nuclear supply chain. The diversity of NIA membership enables effective and constructive industry-wide interaction. NIA member companies have significant expertise in nuclear decommissioning and clean-up, with 17 nuclear sites in the UK currently being managed through the process.
