McMaster University’s Nuclear Operations and Facilities (NO&F) houses an international suite of research facilities that enable discoveries in medicine, clean energy, nuclear safety, materials and environmental science. The central facility within NO&F is the McMaster Nuclear Reactor (MNR) – a multi-purpose reactor that provides neutrons for medical isotope production and research. Medical isotopes from the MNR treat over 200 patients per day worldwide. The reactor is supported by a 28,000 sqft dedicated High Level Laboratory Facility which contains the necessary infrastructure and licenses to allow research with far-reaching impacts for Canadians. Other nuclear infrastructure includes the hotcell facility in the Centre for Advanced Nuclear Systems (CANS), the cyclotron facility and the Accelerator Laboratories.

Founded in 1980, the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada is an independent, national organization dedicated to promoting and advancing radiation safety in the workplace, in the environment and in the community. We offer a broad range of educational, technical and scientific services to businesses, organizations and individuals across Canada and around the world. Our impartial information hotline service receives hundreds of calls and emails every year for information and assistance on workplace radiation questions.

Saskatchewan Mining Association (SMA) is an industry-driven organization representing the mining and mineral exploration industry with over 25 mining operations in the province. The Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation is building a research and innovation capacity to support a vibrant nuclear sector in Saskatchewan and Canada. Working with academic institutions in partnership with industry and experts from across Canada and around the world, the Fedoruk Centre is placing Saskatchewan among global leaders in nuclear research, development and training in the areas of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, social and environmental aspects of nuclear development, energy production including small reactors, and materials research.

It brings together dedicated physicists and interdisciplinary talent, sophisticated technical resources, and commercial partners in a way that has established the laboratory as a global model of success. Its large user community is composed of international teams of scientists, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students.

University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (known as UNENE) was created in 2002 as a partnership between Industry and universities with the objectives of establishing a nuclear R&D program in universities, train and develop Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) to address the demographic gap and to create a sustainable source of expertise for independent industry and public consultation.

The Centre for Nuclear Energy Research (CNER) is a R&D institute within the University of New Brunswick (UNB) delivering state of the art interdisciplinary applied research projects and services to organizations and industry leaders around the globe. CNER has 8 high-temperature, high-pressure test loops which can simulate the reactor coolant and secondary systems of nuclear reactors and steam-raising circuits in thermal power generation plants.

The University of Regina (U of R) is Saskatchewan’s leading experience-based learning university, located in the province’s capital. The preferred institution for over 16,000 students and 3,000 faculty and staff, the U of R offers nearly 200 academic programs across ten faculties and three federated colleges.

Since its inception in 2004, WiN Canada has promoted the role of women in the Canadian nuclear and radiation related industries. WiN Canada brings women together into a supportive environment to provide opportunities to succeed through mentoring, networking, and personal development initiatives. WiN Canada enjoys a diverse membership representing not only skilled and technical disciplines, but also those who support the industry in less obvious roles such as: lawyers, accountants, financial professionals, sales, and administrators.

The World Nuclear Association is the international organization that represents the global nuclear industry. Its mission is to promote a wider understanding of nuclear energy among key international influencers by producing authoritative information, developing common industry positions, and contributing to the energy debate.

The World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI) was founded in 1998 by British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL), now International Nuclear Services (INS) of the United Kingdom, COGEMA now Orano of France, and the Federation of Electric Power Companies (FEPC) of Japan to represent the collective interests of the radioactive materials transport sector, and those who rely on safe, effective and reliable transport.

The Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA) is a national, non-profit association comprising of industry, academia, research agencies and end-users focused on advancing the use of clean hydrogen and hydrogen technologies to help create a prosperous net-zero world.

Founded in 2016, Energy Storage Canada (ESC) is a not-for-profit organization and the only national trade association in Canada dedicated solely to the growth and market development of the country’s energy storage sector as a means of accelerating the realization of Canada’s ongoing energy transition and Net Zero goals through advocacy, education, collaboration, and research.

The FinNuclear Association is a national network and business forum for Finnish nuclear energy stakeholders, covering the entire value chain from design and construction to operation, waste management, and decommissioning. FinNuclear supports its members by promoting international cooperation, organizing events and technical exchanges, and contributing to the safe, efficient, and economically sound use of nuclear energy in Finland and beyond.

Sfen (Société française d’énergie nucléaire) is the French crossroads of knowledge on nuclear energy. Sfen is a non-profit association of individuals. Founded in 1973, its mission is to develop the knowledge of all those interested in nuclear energy. The association brings together 3,600 professionals, engineers, technicians, chemists, doctors, professors, and students from French industrial sites and nuclear research organizations.

Created in 2018 with the ambition of uniting the entire French nuclear industry into a single trade association, GIFEN brings together companies operating nuclear facilities, large companies, small and mid-sized enterprises, very small businesses, professional organisations and associations, covering all types of industrial activities (studies, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, etc.) as well as all areas of nuclear power generation (fuel cycle, research, power generation, equipment manufacturing, decommissioning, etc.).

The International Institute of Nuclear Energy (I2EN) represents and coordinates the French education and training offer for countries wishing to partner with France in the nuclear domain. It coordinates and mobilizes, as appropriate, the French academic, governmental, research and industrial stakeholders including 30 universities and high-level engineering schools, national research laboratories and industrial French companies to define and deliver education and training programs.

The Korea Atomic Industrial Forum (KAIF) was established as a public organization in 1972 to represent the Korean nuclear industry. KAIF is a professional organization of members from government, industry, academic, and research institutes devoted to beneficial and industrial applications of nuclear science and technology. KAIF is also dedicated to continuous development of the nuclear industry and national economy by promoting various projects: developing human resources, building cooperation networks, and expanding public acceptance.

KNA was founded to foster international cooperation of the Korean nuclear industry. It represents over 80 Korean companies and major organizations including electric utilities, nuclear suppliers, and construction firms and members in policy, financial, legal, and academic fields. As an important international communication channel of ‘Team Korea’, KNA supports strategic partnerships between the Korean and overseas nuclear industries.

The Norwegian Nuclear Association (NNA) is a national organisation representing Norway’s nuclear community, uniting companies, research institutions, educational bodies, and stakeholders engaged in nuclear science, technology, and innovation. The Association promotes national competence development, supports evidence-based policy and strategy, and fosters collaboration across sectors where nuclear technologies contribute to energy, industry, medicine, and research. The Nuclear Industry Association of Türkiye (NIATR) is the leading national organization representing the interests of the Turkish nuclear energy sector. Established to support the development and implementation of Türkiye’s peaceful nuclear power program, NIATR works closely with its members, government bodies, and international partners. The association is dedicated to promoting high standards of safety, security, and operational excellence, fostering public understanding and acceptance of nuclear technology, and advancing Türkiye’s strategic goals for energy security and decarbonization.

nucleareurope is the Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear energy industry in Europe. nucleareurope acts as the voice of the European nuclear industry in energy policy discussions with EU Institutions and other key stakeholders. The membership of nucleareurope is made up of 15 national nuclear associations representing nearly 3,000 firms.

Since 1935, the Mining Association of Canada (MAC) has been the national voice of the Canadian mining industry. Working alongside our members, MAC promotes the industry nationally and internationally, works with governments on policies affecting the sector and educates the public on the value mining brings to the economy and the daily life of Canadians.
