Heather Kleb President & Chief Executive Officer (Acting) Phone: 613-237-4262 E-mail: klebh@cna.ca Heather is a senior Environmental Scientist with a Master of Science in Ecology and 17 years of experience working on multi-million dollar projects supporting a variety of industries. Heather has held a number of positions at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, including Manager, Regulatory Affairs, for the cleanup and long-term management of historic low-level radioactive waste in Port Hope and Clarington, Ontario. Prior to joining AECL, Heather worked as an environmental consultant, monitoring Luscar Limiteds coal mines and conducting environmental assessments of Weyerhaeusers Forest Management Plans. Heather has also worked overseas. As an employee of Anglo American she provided environmental assessment, environmental monitoring and management services to AMCOAL, De Beers, and AngloGold while in South Africa, Botswana and Mali. Because of her varied experience, Heather has complied with government and other agencies ranging from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to the International Finance Corporation.

Marie-danielle Davis Director, Member Services/Corporate Secretary Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 102 E-mail: davism@cna.ca Marie-danielle joined the CNA in January 2010 as the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO and Corporate Secretary for the Association. She is responsible for managing the Presidents agenda and office, providing support to the Board of Directors and senior management team, organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. She also oversees the operation of the associations annual nuclear conference. Prior to joining the CNA, she was the National Affairs Coordinator for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

Steve Coupland Director of Environmental Affairs Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 107 E-mail: couplands@cna.ca Steve is currently on a part-time secondment to the Canadian Nuclear Association from Bruce Power where he serves as Senior Advisor, Regulatory Affairs for Bruce Power and is the companys representative in Ottawa. At the CNA, Mr. Coupland serves as Director, Environmental Affairs where he has responsibility for assisting members of the nuclear industry to continue to improve their environmental performance and receive recognition for nuclears role as a clean, reliable source of electricity. Prior to joining Bruce Power, Mr. Coupland worked as a management consultant for SCG Research Inc. and held a number of senior federal government policy and public affairs positions in Ottawa including working as a Director in the Prime Ministers Office, Industry Canada and Government Services. Mr. Coupland holds an Honours B.A. in History and Political Studies from Queens University and an M.A. in History from the University of Western Ontario.

George Christidis Director of Government Affairs Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 108 E-mail: georgec@cna.ca George is seconded to the Canadian Nuclear Association from Ontario Power Generation. George brings over 15 years of experience in dealing with governments at the federal, provincial, and international level. He has worked in the federal Government as a senior advisor to Ministers, Senior Policy Analyst at Western Diversification before working in the private sector as Director of Government Affairs at the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and Vice President in a senior government relations firms in Ottawa working on a number of sectors including energy and environment. George speaks English, French, Spanish and Greek. He enjoys fitness, music and spending time with family. George volunteers at the Hellenic Community of Ottawa where he is presently a board member responsible for communications.

John Stewart Director of Policy and Research Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 103 E-mail: stewartj@cna.ca John has worked in U.S.-Canada energy relations since 1990. He leads the development of policy and research products to support the CNAs mission. John drafted the Energy Council of Canadas 2010 report to the World Energy Congress. He previously spent eighteen years as the senior economic and energy staffer of the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, and two years as the Supervisor of the Embassys Financial Management Center. John was a member of a Climate Outreach Team that in 2006 received a Superior Honor Award for effectively communicating U.S. foreign policy on the environment and climate change. In 2003 he received the Department of States Meritorious Honor Award for sustained, superior analysis, reporting, advocacy and public diplomacy on behalf of U.S. energy security interests with Canada. John serves as President of the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization(OCISO), a multi-program not-for-profit organization that has been embracing diversity and building community since 1979.

Peter Poruks Manager of Regulatory Affairs Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 106 E-mail: poruksp@cna.ca Peter comes from an engineering background, with research, safety-analysis and licensing experience in the Canadian nuclear industry. After obtaining Bachelor’s degrees in physics and engineering from the University of Alberta, Peter moved to Ontario in the mid-1990’s obtaining a M.Sc. from McMaster University and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from Queen’s University. He then joined the staff at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited’s Chalk River Laboratories where he worked as a scientist for 5 years. He researched the structural stability of materials utilized in CANDU nuclear reactors, and provided consulting services to various utilities including Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation. Peter then changed his career focus and joined the Operations Safety and Licensing branch at CRL, supporting the National Research Universal reactor and various other licensed operating facilities on site. As section head for licensing Peter led a small team of professionals providing licensing and regulatory support as well as reviewing safety analysis pertaining to numerous engineering projects. After 4 ½ years in this role, Peter joined the Canadian Nuclear Association in January of 2013. When not at work Peter is dedicated to his family and supporting local SPCA’s. He has a keen interest in politics and history; especially studying 20th century conflicts.

Alex Wolf Marketing Officer Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 109 E-mail: wolfa@cna.ca Alex first joined the CNA in April 2011, and has provided project oversight for the planning and execution of the CNA’s 2012 and 2013 Conference and Trade Shows. Alex is also responsible for the CNA’s education projects, including coordinating our educators’ outreach program,a nd producing the 2013 Canadian Nuclear Factbook.Prior to Alex’s current role at the CNA, Alex worked as Radiation Therapist, as well as the Staff Scientist and Training Coordinator at the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada. Alex holds several Radiation Safety accreditations, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and the Canadian Radiation Protection Association. Alex was also part of the team that won first place at the inaugural International Nuclear Energy Olympiad in Seoul.In his spare time, Alex continues to pursue various studies at the University of Ottawa, and spends as much time as possible on his hybrid bicycle.
Alex holds a B.MRSc. in Radiation Therapy and an M.Sc. in Radiation Biology, both from McMaster University in Hamilton, as well as an MBA from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto. |

Rosey Li Marketing and Communications Assistant Phone: 613-237-4262 Ext: 104 E-mail: roseyli@cna.ca Rosey is currently a Bachelors of Commerce student at Queen’s University. She possesses an extensive artistic background and is fluent in HTML/CSS. Rosey is also the marketing coordinator for Queen’s Startup Summit and DECA Queen’s. In her spare time, she can be found coding, weight training, and modeling for charity fashion shows. She aspires to specialize in marketing and pursue a marketing career after graduation.
